Description
Hexane is a solvent used extensively in the food industry for the extraction of various products such as vegetable oils, fats, flavors, fragrances, color additives or bioactive ingredients. With its high evaporation rate and low boiling point, it also does not co-extract chlorophylls, even though it does waxes and lipids. But unlike hydrocarbons, Hexane requires an additional evaporation process to guarantee removal from the end product.
